Weight Loss - What Is The Best Method For Successful Weight Loss?

We do not blame you if you are looking for the best weight loss method for you to follow. It is natural to want to make the most of your time since it is a valuable resource. It would be counterintuitive to keep trying your luck with different weight loss diets if it were possible to get it right the first time. While we do have an opinion on what we believe is the best way to lose weight, it may not be the answer you want to hear.
First, let's talk about what is the fastest way to lose weight: which is not necessarily the best way. Everyone is interested in what produces results in the shortest amount of time. People with Type 2 diabetes want to reduce their blood sugar level overnight, and many individuals want to drop 20 pounds or more as quickly as possible. Naturally, what is quicker and easier to do usually takes priority.
The fastest way to lose weight is not to eat at all. Fasting has become a very popular weight loss technique, and it may be beneficial in the right circumstances. The problem, however, is fasting is not sustainable. Unless you experiment with 16 or 24-hour fasts the right way (always consult your doctor first), it is hard to make fasting a weight loss technique you can use consistently.
After fasting come diets very strict about caloric intake. A strict caloric intake is where you will...

  • count each and every gram and calorie of food you eat, and
  • stay below a very harsh limit,

to ensure you lose weight quickly. As you can imagine or attest to, there are many problems with this weight loss strategy. Not to mention it is incredibly taxing and difficult to sustain.
Generally speaking, methods that promise fast weight loss are not reasonable for most people, especially anyone who needs to lose a considerable amount of weight.
Which brings us to our original topic: the best way to lose weight will not be the fastest way, but it will be the one most likely to get you the results you are seeking.
It is no secret eating less and exercising more are proven ways to lose weight. Also, it's worth mentioning it is not all about what you eat. More importantly, you should focus on developing the discipline to help you refuse certain foods and endure hunger pangs that threaten to stall your progress. The amount of mental strength required to achieve an ambitious weight loss goal is highly understated.
You may be disappointed because we just reminded you of what you already knew. But weight loss is simple, and there is no need to overcomplicate it. Most people will attempt to lose weight by following every fad diet out there. You should stick to what works, even if it takes you a little bit longer to reach your goal weight.
Although managing your disease can be very challenging, Type 2 diabetes is not a condition you must just live with. You can make simple changes to your daily routine and lower both your weight and your blood sugar levels. Hang in there, the longer you do it, the easier it gets.

The R.E.D. Of Weight Loss

There's lots of Rationalizations, Excuses and Denial-a.k.a. bullshit-in weight loss.
I hear it daily.
My favorite, which I've already written about it, is "I'm not really that overweight; I'm big boned." I always get a chuckle out of that one.
My second favorite is a tie between "No matter what I do, I can't seem to lose weight" and "I can't lose weight because my metabolism is slow" because I usually hear them together. The 'slow metabolism' excuse implies the matter is outside their control when in fact this isn't true; boosting your own metabolism is possible. And, just as when I hear the 'big boned theory' excuse, I nip that crap right in the bud.
While medically, biologically, genetically, an individual might be predisposed to have a chink in the metabolic armor that the next person doesn't have, when people tell me they can't lose weight no matter what they DO because of a slow metabolism, 99.9% of the time the real truth is they can't lose weight because of what they are NOT doing: making the right food choices, using portion control, planning ahead and having meals and/or snacks with them, eating every few hours, drinking a ton of water, getting the right amount of sleep and, hopefully, including some exercise in their schedule a few times a week. Yes, folks, it takes a lot of work to lose weight as well as to maintain weight loss.
I have seen all kinds of clients over the years, all ages, all medical issues, some of course DO have slower metabolisms because of certain medications or treatments they might be undergoing. Can they control the fact that they need to be taking those meds or be undergoing certain medial treatment? No, of course not; and for however long they are under a doctor's care and following doctors orders, they just have to do it, and forget it. They must also, however, focus only on the stuff they CAN control... and what they can control, they must... 100% of the time. As I tell them, barring unforeseen circumstances or emergencies of course, WHAT you eat, HOW MUCH and WHEN is in your control... and that is all you should focus on because when you don't, you will just gain more and more weight as your metabolism gets slower. Even if you lost 'only' 1/2 pound a week, if you started today, by this day next year you'll be down 26 pounds.
The person who uses the 'slow metabolism' argument is using that as a rationale for why (in their mind) they CAN'T, as an excuse for why they WON'T take the actions necessary to get the results they want, and is in denial about how much control they do have when it comes to their weight loss goals.
If you're overweight or obese, get rid of the R.E.D. That color doesn't look good on you.

The 8-Step Program for Weight Loss Goals

I was recently asked this question, "Why is getting in the right frame of mind the key to achieving weight loss results?" Now, obviously, by starting that question with the word "why" instead of "do you think," or "is," this individual was (a) telling me what he thought to be a fact; and (b) assuming that I agreed with him. I do not.
For most who are very overweight or obese, it's not about waiting to get in the right frame of mind... or becoming 'ready.' In my experience, most won't. Instead, they'll wait for a major event in their life-a heart attack, a stroke, a cancer, a diabetes diagnosis, etc.-to give them the wake-up slap in the face they need (and I'm amazed at how many people do experience those major events and STILL aren't "ready"). When I hear this from someone, I'll flat out ask them, "What are you waiting for? Your next stroke? The one that leaves you paralyzed?" Or, "When will you be in the right frame in mind?... when the diabetes turns into Type 1 and you're on insulin?" Or, "What are you waiting for?... the cancer to return and take your other kidney?" These folks, and anyone else waiting for the God-of-The-Right-Frame-of-Mind to come to them in a vision, just need to own up to the fact they are fat and that they must lose weight... whether they're ready or not. Very few overweight or obese people wake up one morning, throw their legs over the side of the bed and say, "That's it. I'm fat, I'm fed up and I'm in the right of frame of mind to go on a diet"... and then follow that up from that day forward by being 100% driven, focused and successful. In my experiences, it just doesn't happen... and I've been doing this for a long time.
When trying to conquer an addiction to drugs or alcohol or gambling, you just have to recognize you have a problem, you have to say it out loud, you have to get yourself to a meeting, and begin... whether you're "ready" or not and, let's face it, most aren't... at least initially. Some attend their first addiction meeting because they're ordered to do so by the courts as a condition of avoiding jail; others are told by an employer they must do so as a condition of keeping a job; or, some might be told by a spouse they must as a condition of not being thrown out of the house, etc. Most addicts don't go for help initially because they're in the right frame of mind and eagerly looking forward to the process and the tough battle of becoming clean and sober. Instead, they are nervous; they are afraid they will fail.
No one is ever "ready" to begin that which they know must be done and that will be emotionally challenging and even sometimes physically and psychologically difficult. The key is: Once you know it needs to be done, just begin. Walk into the 12-step program. Just sit, and listen. The more you listen to others sharing, the more you'll learn. The more you learn, the more you see it is possible to get clean. The more meetings you attend, even if you you're still using, the more comfortable you'll feel. The more comfortable you feel, the sooner you'll find 'the one' to be your sponsor. When that happens, you keep going because you have an anchor, someone to lean on and support you, and when that happens, eventually there's a miracle around the corner... and you wake up one day realizing you're clean and sober for a week, for two weeks, for three months, for a year, etc. With each passing day and week and month and year, you become stronger, more confident, happier and healthy and stand the best chance of never using again.
Breaking bad eating habits to achieve weight loss goals and good health is the same. No one who has been battling excessive weight and eating issues, who has had no restrictions on what or how much they've been eating or drinking, EVER looks eagerly forward to going through the emotional process of diet and lifestyle change. No one. But, being fat, unhappy, unhealthy and uncomfortable, and with the prospects of becoming immobile and dependent on others as you age, should be the catalyst to at least start.
The truth is, weight loss success (just as with any other addictions or bad habits someone is trying to conquer) is a series of small steps, and you have to start before you're ready.

"If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything, is ready... we shall never begin." ~ Ivan Turgenev

Picture, if you will, a staircase and each of 8 steps is labeled starting at the bottom:
Step 8: YES! I did it!
Step 7: I will do it.
Step 6: I can do it.
Step 5: I'll try to do it.
Step 4: How do I do it?
Step 3: I want to do it.
Step 2: I can't do it.
Step 1: I'm not ready.
Which step are you on today?

Lose Weight Fast - How I Did It

It's a huge job to lose weight fast with only your own resources to help you through those tough periods when temptations arise. It's so hard to make progress and yet so easy to put weight back on. It may be you are busy at work, or under pressure in your private life. For some people, food can offer comfort in difficult times.
A proven diet and exercise plan is recommended because its effective, easy to follow and offers great guidance when workbooks are provided. It's true that weight loss gets harder as you get older. Women over 30 may it more difficult losing weight after pregnancy. Anyone over 40 years of age also finds weight loss a bigger challenge than they did at age 20. As the body changes, the metabolism slows down so too should your food intake be reduced.
Several studies have shown that the daily allowance recommended for protein is far lower than it should be, especially for those engaged in regular exercise. What this research has shown is that people who are not allowing for an adequate daily allowance for protein can lose valuable muscle tissue. Proteins are made up of amino acids and there are just 20 amino acids that make up ALL human proteins. Of these 20 amino acids, the body can only produce 12 itself. This means the other 8 amino acids must be obtained through the food you eat.
A good weight loss program has diet and exercise components. The diet portion can consist of three phases, each phase being of one week duration. During the first week you should see a reduced weight of weight of about 7 pounds. The second and third weeks should focus on body shape and fitness. Some people are content to simply maintain their new body weight after the first week.
A diet shouldn't involve starving yourself or exercising excessively, but instead should follow a specific scientific method of including certain nutrient rich foods into your diet. It is more effective when combined with foods offering special fat combating properties. For example Oats in either breakfast muesli or porridge will definitely help you lose weight. You don't have to restrict yourself to certain types of foods like 'no carbohydrates' or 'no sugar', but rather include specific foods to help burn the fat.
A diet should be proven, and based on years of scientific research and testing to ensure its safety and effectiveness. One thing you can do starting today is some form of exercise, even walking. Another is control of meal portions and snacks. Instead of bread and other carbohydrates, take some fruit with you to work or in the car. A banana or orange is more refreshing and will help keep the your next meal size down.

Weight Loss Tips To Keep Bad Fat Away

A healthy weight can be achieved through intake of balanced food plus the integration of fitness exercises. People have developed bad eating habits over the years. For starters, snacking is no longer about consuming a light meal. Today, computer users, from gamers to freelancers love to snack while browsing or working.
This habit plus the sedentary lifestyle people lead contributes to weight gain. The fat ans glucose from the snacks gets stored around the thighs, hips and belly. These contribute to short and long term conditions. For example snoring and sleep apnea are short term conditions while diabetes and heart problems are long term conditions of obesity.
You can finally avoid the conditions above by keeping bad fat away thanks to weight loss tips below.
Control your emotional eating habits
Today, people no longer consume food to satisfy their bellies. It is a common habit to find them eating just because they are stressed or anxious. Furthermore, the food being eaten is laden with unsaturated fats and sugar.
It is converted into fat as the body is unable to utilize it as energy. In order to prevent weight gain, it is wise to control your emotional eating. Find what triggers the habit and engage stress relievers like taking a walk and laughing with family and friends.
Engage in moderate eating
It is important to eat moderate portions during meals. It is very easy to overeat when you serve too much food. Consuming smaller portions allows your body to digest effectively and efficiently. Start by investing in medium sized plates and clean away the large plates from the dinner table.
Purchase a standard serving spoon(s) which will allows you to serve a certain amount. Keep to this standard during meals and you will maintain a healthy weight always.
Lose weight gradually
There is a misconception that when you start a weight loss program, you will have the desired results in a week or month. What you need to know is that the body takes time in order to lose weight effectively. If you were to start exercising and eating healthy today, you will start losing what experts refer to as water weight.
As you engage in more exercises and healthy eating, your body will burn the fat around the muscles. The fat will help to power different body functions. What this means is that losing weight is a gradual process and takes time to reach a certain goal. Be patient.
Eat fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients and mineral. If you were to take a short trip to the store, you will find the grocery section. Here, you will see rows upon rows filled with green vegetables and colorful fruits.
Fruits to eat include oranges, apples and plums. Vegetables to eat include spinach, kales and asparagus. Fiber increases metabolism rate allowing your body to digest as well as absorb nutrients effectively.
