Losing Weight Rapidly

Wanting a slimmer and sexier body is no lofty ambition. Many people have succeeded in sculpting their physiques to make them look healthy and desirable. However, this end is not attained in just a snap or skipping one night's dinner. For some people though, patience is not a virtue. They seem not to be able to afford so much attention, time and money to get the body they have always wanted. As a result, these people result to rapid weight loss practices and programs which may not be as effective as these people are led to believe they are.

Fast-track diets are one of these rapid weight loss practices which may not be very inviting as they seem according to research. Fast-track diet programs, as scientific research shows, are only good while they last. Rapid weight loss often results ironically, to rapid weight gain. people who undergo low carbohydrate or low calorie diets normally revert back to old eating habits simply because human beings can not actually live on with this type of diet scheme for the rest of their lives.

Now there is also scientific research showing that rapid weight loss does not imply an individual is losing unwanted excess fat; it is commonly water that is lost with following rapid weight loss practices. This could cause certain alarm but actually, water lost is regained very quickly. So there is actually zero net weight lost after all. So one should not be foolish enough to be so gullible with the advertising of certain diet pills out there in the market; especially those which claim to aid lose a whopping amount of fat in a short time. They will only dehydrate the body. And just so it is clear, the body can only lose two pounds of fat per week, one could be exceptionally lucky if he can lose three, but normally, it's just two.

Another rapid weight loss product out in the market is the slimming soap. Claiming that these soaps are made from a unique concoction of rare chinese herbs and seaweed, they assert to help people using them to shed off body fats by emulsifying them upon application while taking a bath. Some are even specialized like those which promise to give the user "beautiful thighs". The ingredients may prove to improve the quality of the skin but no research has ever come up yet which aids to prove the efficacy of these ingredients in emulsifying excess body fats.

One more rapid weight loss product out there in the market promises to suppress hunger and at the same time help increase the body's metabolic rate. It also claims to be able to accelerate the healing process and reduce certain body pains, all these plus its being a very chic fashion accent. Well they are actually called magnetic weight loss earrings.

The secret of this set of earrings is in the magnet, so it says. Wearing them near the ears balances the magnetism in the body therefore one will experience all the above mentioned effects. Though press releases say that there are actually "studies" to back these assertions up, nothing yet is found in medical journals. Though buying a set may not kill a person, it's probably not a wise investment. One might as well wear a horse shoe earring for a more exquisite fashion statement.

Bottom line is "no pain, no gain". If one wants a beautiful body, one must sweat it out. And as for those rapid weight loss products coming out on the market, if they are too good to be true, they probably are not.

Top Tips for Starting a Healthy Lifestyle

Healthy living is a long term commitment. Understanding the basics of a healthy lifestyle and putting the education into place will get you on the road to better living. What you eat has a big effect on how you feel, preform and to some extent determines your shape, chiseled to pear.
To begin stop eating processed foods and start eating healthy. Eliminate foods that are not natural. Here are a few that are found in many forms throughout our food chain:

  • Artificial ingredients like synthetic dyes like FD&C Red No. 40, Tartrazine, or Blue No. 1 (Read the labels on food items).
  • Artificial sweeteners - saccharin, aspartame, or sucralose (found in diet soda)
  • Refined grains (white flour disguised as enriched wheat flour) instead use whole grains, quinoa, brown rice.
  • Factory farmed meat and fish - go organic where you can.

The commercial beef stock are fed antibiotics and other synthetic foods. For example, the commercial livestock farmers unintentionally created mad cow disease. They processed the remains from the cattle and sheep into a meal byproduct and used it as additional feed for the remaining stock generating more yield from their cattle. The result was the slaughter of 4.4 million cattle to stop the spread of the disease. It is believed to have been eradicated. However, commercial cattle remain to be fed in an unnatural way with synthetic feed and other means.
Organic free ranging is best. If at all possible avoid commercial meat and use local farmers when you can.
Farm raised fish also are fed tablets with dye and antibiotics to prevent disease from infecting fish in the confined environment. The dyes give salmon that extra orange appearance while also delivering a compound called canthazanthin. It is known to cause eye defects and retinal damage. The European Commission ordered fish farmers to reduce its use. The United States requires labels. That doesn't seem that it is much of a deterrent to its use.
Another problematic food source is high fructose corn syrup. It is an artificial sweetener that is processed corn syrup with additional enzymes. It is found in a substantial number of foods including crackers, breads, drinks, canned vegetables, and a lot more. Check your labels. It is a cheap substitute to sugar and the reason it is so prevalent. It is attributed to the obesity epidemic in the U.S.
Healthy Eating Tips

  • Use natural food colorings like -paprika, saffron, or annatto.
  • For sweeteners always go natural with honey, maple syrup, and cane sugar worst case scenario. Strive to eliminate sugar.
  • The easiest way to get vegetables into the diet is to juice. You don't need expensive equipment like a Vegomatic. You can use a blender.

Juicing or smoothies are a great way to get vegetables easily into the diet and when you're on the go. One delicious smoothie I like in particular is the green Pina colada recipe. It's so easy to make and it takes literally minutes to make. I use coconut water in place of coconut milk as it has far less calories. I also add a raw egg for an additional kick of protein. I use a Ninja blender. The egg sounds gross to some but you can't even taste it. I have used two raw eggs recently and I really didn't notice a taste difference. When I'm in a hurry it's a good meal replacement and it tastes good.
Vegetable and fruit smoothies are great because they are raw. The nutrients are not cooked out of them. If you can afford organic fruits and vegetables, even better. Buy local when you can. The vitamins and nutrients your get from going raw is great for the digestive track and easier on the liver. It's a good way to fuel your body.
Replacing soda is a must for a healthy lifestyle. Use carbonated water in place of soda. You can experiment with flavorings naturally by adding lemon, lime, cucumber, pineapple, watermelon, melon, pear, apple, peach, etc. Try it.
I do like S. Pellegrino sparkling water. It tastes so good to me I don't like to alte
r the flavor. I have recently tried grapefruit flavored Perrier sparkling water and found it to be refreshing. These are great alternatives to soda if you still want the fizzy of a carbonated drink.
Danish researchers have discovered that drinking diet soda has led to fat buildup around the liver and skeletal muscles which contributes to insulin resistance and diabetes. The study revealed that people who drank 1 diet soda per day for 6 months had a 132- 143% increase in liver fat. In addition a 117-221% increase in skeletal fat, and about a 30 percent increase in both triglyceride blood fats and other organ fat.
Eliminating the soda will have you feeling better within a week. You will have a lot more energy, not be nearly as tired and your blood sugar levels will be a lot more stable.
You will want to also eliminate fast foods and fried foods immediately. Those are basically a chemical smorgasbord and so bad for the body. Another contributor to the U.S. obesity problem.
The fast food industry has tapped into convenience. It is a quick and inexpensive way to solve the hunger pangs. The cure for this is to simply do some meal planning. Besides losing weight and feeling better you can also save money.
Using a weekly meal plan will solve not only lunch plans but all meals for the entire week. Get a meal plan in place and that will solve the majority of the "I'm hungry what am I going to eat?" It is really simple and its also a great way to grocery shop and save money.
Find a way to get some exercise and plan for that too. The best way to stick to an exercise program is to find one that you enjoy. Do you like tennis, shooting hoops, going for a jog along a pristine trail? Find what you like and you will be successful.
The main thing is if you enjoy it, it's a lot easier to commit to it. Once you do you will find success. Add exercise to a better eating plan and you will reap the results.
My name is Dean Vella, and I created http://www.mypaleodiet.org because I am a believer in living a healthy lifestyle. I created the site to share what I have learned and some great recipes. I know from experience how food affects my performance whether its physical or mental, having found some winning solutions to an eating lifestyle.
One discovery I found is something called leptin resistance. Leptin is the chemical that tells your brain your full and to stop eating. It can be affected by a poor diet and is found to be prevalent in obese people. Correcting leptin resistance has shown dramatic effects for people trying to lose weight. You can read more about it on mypaleodiet.org.

3 Ways You're Ruining Your Weight Loss Diet Plan

Are you unintentionally damaging your weight loss diet plan? When you live a busy life and you're trying to lose weight, it can be tricky trying to stick to healthy diet programs for weight loss.
There are many ways that you can ruin a healthy weight loss plan without even realizing it. The good news is that you have taken positive action to lose those excess pounds. The bad news is that if you're not seeing the results that you want, you're not going to want to stick with it for very long. Here are 3 examples of how you might be sabotaging your weight loss diet plan.
1. Guessing Portion Sizes.
Portion sizes are tricky, and it is easy to think you are eating less than you really are. Food labels can be confusing to understand and the objective of food packaging is to get you to buy the product. While the label may say it's for one serving, it is important to check what that means, by looking at the "servings per package" number.
A great way to make sure you are getting what you really need is to use measuring cups, a scale and thoroughly reading the labels on your food. Remember that you won't have to do this forever, because after a while, you'll be able to master portion sizes and judge them with accuracy.
2. Late Night Snacks.
Boredom and snacking go hand in hand. One way to skip those late night cravings is to go to bed before they start. If that is too difficult for you, then make sure you save enough calories to cover your evening snacks or else it will undo all your day's efforts.
There are many options to help your late night hunger. For example, half an apple and a glass of water or a handful or carrots or celery sticks. These will help stop your munchies without adding lots of calories to your daily intake.
3. Crash Diets.
The crucial element for healthy weight loss is committing to a lifestyle change of eating healthy foods and getting regular exercise. That doesn't mean that you can't have the occasional treat, and although crash diets might work for a little while, they will not work in the long term. Typically, you will put back on all of the weight you lost and often even more. When you commit to lasting lifestyle changes, you will never have to diet again.

5 Tips When It Comes To Weight Loss

Weight loss is progressively becoming a major dilemma for most people around the world. The standards of beauty and perfection are increasing by the day, making it more difficult for masses to feel comfortable in their skins. As a result, people are turning towards aggressive weight loss regimes that help them in attaining short-lived success that is often accompanied by severe health problems.
Here are a few tips and tricks you can use to lose weight and keep it off for permanent results.
Tip #1: What's Your Ideal?
Before you head out to lose weight, it is important for you to understand how your body differs from other people around you. Instead of pursuing unrealistic and idealistic weight goals, you need to identify the healthy weight targets for your body according to the BMI (Body Mass Index). If you push yourself beyond these limits, you might end up starving yourself, which comes with its fair share of medical complications.
Tip #2: Eat Healthy
If you are trying to lose weight, it is the perfect time to start eating healthy. Get rid of processed and preserved foods around the house. The junk foods that are rich in carbohydrates need to go out first. Replace these with fresh and raw ingredients like fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, nuts, natural oils, fresh seafood, poultry products and others. If you're inclined to snack frequently during the day, you need to replace these with healthier alternatives as well. This does not necessarily mean your snacks have to be bitter or unpalatable. Figure out your strengths and work around these so you can respect your diet plans. You need to turn around your diet around healthy eating principles to achieve the desired results.
Tip #3: Beat Those Cravings!
For most people, it is not about the quantity or the quality of the food consumed at mealtime, it is more about the frequency of snacking that causes the problems. You need to put your body clock in order to beat those cravings.
Figure out ways to stop yourself from consuming unhealthy foods/snacks. Make sure you eat a full serving of healthy edibles during your meal time. This will help you overcome untimely hunger pangs. Also, restrict your carbohydrate consumption. This helps in tackling hunger pangs as well.
Tip #4: Exercise!
There's no alternative for exercise. Healthy eating may be able to help you lose a few pounds over months, but exercising regularly can help you expedite the process for quick results. This doesn't necessarily imply that you need to be in the gym for a major portion of your day. Creating a 30-minute workout session or exercising 3-4 times in a week can also play a major role in keeping you fit and healthy.
Tip #5: Acupuncture Helps
According to the research conducted earlier, acupuncture is known to help with healthy weight loss, enabling you to shed the pounds quicker and with fewer side-effects. It relaxes the body and the mind, which makes it easier to adapt to the healthy routine. You might want to try incorporating it in your healthy regime to see the difference!

Childhood Obesity - A Plan to Prevent Childhood Obesity

One thing that didn't occur to us when we were expecting our first child was the possibility that we might have to battle childhood obesity. It is probably because at the time we were very active ourselves, and the kids naturally went along.
Things are a little different now. Not every family can be active. Many families have two working parents and some also have an elderly relative living at home and being tended. Prevention now needs to be a part of our lives.
Start in Pregnancy: Everything you eat, drink or take will have some effect on the unborn child. So will most of your activities. The child will know if you are walking or sleeping. They will dislike some of the food you eat. They will also become quite big if you overeat. This last could have an impact on the rest of the child's life.
Get Age Related Nutrition Information: Talk to the pediatrician and if you need to, talk to a pediatric nutritionist. Children need a certain number of calories to grow properly. They also need a balanced diet. If your toddler gets into an "I'll only eat this" stage (some do), find out about vitamin/mineral supplements that are age appropriate.
Read Labels: Ingredient and nutrition labels will tell you a lot about whether or not the product is good for your children. If it is high in sodium, saturated fat, cholesterol and/or sugars it's probably not something you'll want your child to eat. If you can't pronounce it, it may not be wise. If the word "hydrogenated" is in the ingredients list it's not good for any family member.
Healthy Meal Plans: This is actually a lot easier now that we have the internet. Many websites offer menu planning and will give nutrition information along with the recipe. You can also look up individual foods, whether raw or packaged. Nutritiondata.com is one of the best sites for that purpose.
We can win this battle before it comes up but it will take work. As the children grow older it will also take cooperation, but it can be done.

Step on the scale on the same day each week. If you hit your goal, treat yourself to a non-food reward that you truly desire, like a new dress or bag, then you'll want to work harder to earn it.
Donate your big size clothes to your favorite charity. If you still wondering how to get motivated to lose weight, seeing too big clothes in your closet every morning is not going to help, not exactly the confident thoughts that inspire motivation to hit your marks, so donate them and buy clothes that fit the new body of yours and you will want to do whatever it takes to stay in them.

How to Find the Best Weight Loss Program for You

Are you looking to lose weight?  If you are, you may be interested in joining a weight loss program.  When it comes to joining a weight loss program, you will find that you have a number of different options.  If this is your first time joining a weight loss program, you may be unsure as to what you should look for in a weight loss program.  If that is the case, you will want to continue reading on.

One of the best ways to go about finding the perfect weight loss program for yourself is to ask yourself a number of important questions.  One of the first questions that you should ask yourself is how much time you have to devote to weight loss meetings.  If you were to join a local weight loss program, you would likely be required to attend weekly meeting.  Whether you are busy with your family or busy at work, you may not have the time to do so.  In that case, you should look into joining an online weight loss program, as they are often designed for those with busy schedules.

Another question that you will want to ask yourself, when looking to find the perfect weight loss program is your willpower.  Should you join an online weight loss program, you will be given more freedom, as you do not have to physically report to meetings and answer to group leaders. While this freedom is nice, it has allowed many hopeful individuals to go off track.  If you do not think that you can stick with your online weight loss program goals and instructions, it may be better to join a local weight loss program instead.

Another one of the many questions that you will want to ask yourself, when looking for a weight loss program to join, is how much money you have to spend.  While it is possible to find free weight loss programs, both locally or online, it is actually quite rare.  In your search for weight loss programs, you will find that they have a wide range of membership fees.  Commonly, you will find that online weight loss programs are cheaper than locally operated weight loss programs.  If you are on a budget, the cost of each weight loss program that you come across should play a large role in your decision.

You should also ask yourself if you are embarrassed with your current weight or your physical appearance. Although you should have nothing to be ashamed of, you may still feel that way.  If that is the case, you may be afraid of attending local weight loss meetings.  Of course, you need to remember that everyone else in your meetings is likely feeling the same way, but you don’t have to put yourself in an awkward situation.  If you are concerned with your appearance or what others may think of you, you may want to look into joining an online weight loss program instead.

The above mentioned questions are just a few of the many that you should ask yourself if you are interested in joining a weight loss program. While there are a number of benefits to joining a locally operated weight loss program, as well as an online weight loss program, you need to make the decision that is best for you and your own needs.
