Running to Lose Weight & Build Muscle

When it comes to working out, there are a few things which can help you stay interested. In this article, I am going to go over those things and also tell you whether running should be an important part of your workout routine or not. If you are considering running to lose weight are some tips to help you get through your workouts:
1. Whenever you are working out, always try and do so with a few of your friends so that you don't get bored. This will also help motivate you and push you to go the gym more regularly and work out harder. As a result, you will see results much faster as well. Just one thing you need to keep in mind is to get a friend who is just as interested in body building as you are. Taking someone who just wants to hang around and waste time is not going to be very motivational at all. You can also ask them to spot while you do some heavy lifting and you can pace each other while you run. There are quite a few benefits of asking a friend or friends to tag along with you for your workouts. Why not give it a go?
2. I'm sure you will agree that the music which is played through your gym's speaker system is not very cool. What's more, it makes the whole atmosphere dull and spoils a person's mood to work out. That's why it's a good idea for you to get some of your own music along. This will help you remain pumped & motivated. Music allows you to develop a rhythm to your workouts as well. This will help you improve your breathing and when you breathe properly, working out or running will become a lot easier as well. Another benefit of music is that you will not have to waste your time chatting with other people that come to the gym just to socialize. You are on a mission, why would you want others to distract you?
3. And lastly, running. While running may not be the best exercise if you are trying to build muscle, it is a brilliant way for you to keep your heart healthy and your body fit. If you are trying to lose weight, there is nothing better than running. But if you are trying to bulk up, you should restrict the amount you run. Don't ignore it completely though as it is a great way for you to maintain your health in the long run. After all, I'm sure your health is more important than body building isn't it?

Foods Promoting Weight Loss Is a Natural Way to Lose Weight

Losing weight is not a walk in the park. It requires discipline, hard work and persistence. Is there an easy way - you may think? While there is no easy solution to suddenly becoming slim, however, there is an easier, more natural way to deal with excess belly fat and unwanted extra pounds. The solution is natural foods. Foods listed below are researched to promote weight loss more naturally and gently.
Vegetables is a good choice for your weight loss diet.

  • Broccoli is a great vegetable to start with. Broccoli included in your diet will increase the volume of your meal and effectively satisfy your hunger while reducing your intake of calories.

Steamed Broccoli does a fantastic job of lowering your cholesterol levels in the body by stimulating the release of bile acids, just enough to lower cholesterol and not to corrode your bowels. In addition, broccoli is a natural detoxifier. Unwanted contaminants are eliminated from your body by a composition of phytonutrients found in broccoli, giving you the vital rejuvenation so desirable in the process of losing weight. It is also nice to know that Broccoli has a reputation for fighting chronic diseases such as prostate, breast and skin cancer.

  • Spinach is a good vegetable for burning calories when combined with moderate exercises. It is a beautiful plant that everyone should know about, especially those wanting to lose weight. It is no brainer that muscle building burns calories outright. Spinach is rich in protein that speeds up post-work-out muscle recovery and growth. Apart from this, spinach does an excellent job of curbing your cravings for sugary and fatty foods. You can steam it and flavor with garlic or lemon.

  • Beans, on the other hand, are best in making you feel full as well as warding off cravings for sugary foods that contain lots of calories. The best fact about beans is that it is a perfect substitute for foods rich in fats like red meat.

Proteins are essential for weight loss too.

  • Meat. Many people have unfairly criticized meat. However, lean meat is a good source of protein for your body. A high protein intake will make you full for long time, decrease your appetite for a snack, and increase your body's metabolism.

Protein will also cause weight-regulating hormones to function at their pick, thus controlling your weight. It will boost levels of appetite-reducing hormones GPL-1, Peptide YY, and Cholecystokinin while decreasing hormones responsible for hunger. Beans and legumes are particularly useful in reducing appetite.
One more interesting fact: when your body digest protein, it burns 20-30% of calories received from it. That means if you receive 100 calories from protein, in reality your body will only get 70 to 80.
Not all fat is bad; some is beneficial to weight loss.

  • Olive oil is one of those fats that we need while we lose weight the healthy way. In fact, Olive oil contains high levels of adiponectin which is a hormone that is responsible for breaking down fats in the body. The more adiponectin hormones you have in your body; the less body mass index you will have. Doesn't that sound right? So make sure Olive oil is your preferred cooking fat.

  • Coconut oil is a saturated fat, but the best kind. Coconut fat comes from lauric acid which is known for balancing cholesterol level. However, the most important fact about coconut oil is that it helps in reducing abdominal obesity. So if you plan to concentrate on trimming fat around your belly, include coconut oil in your regiment.

So much has been written about health benefits of Omega-3 fat. I do not wat to over-emphasize the statement by saying that this fat should not be missed from your list of healthy foods promoting weight loss.

  • Omega-3 is found in fish such as Salmon, Tuna, Mackerel, Sardines, and other fatty fish. Omega-3 helps in burning fat and reducing that ravenous appetite that is detrimental to weight loss.

How to Lose Weight - 3 Simple Keys

I see you've decided that carrying around a few extra pounds that just doesn't work well with your life anymore and you're trying to get rid of this extra weight. Well you've made a great stumble over that pizza and have come across an article that will change your life and outlook on losing weight.. I have been able to manipulate different factors to ultimately find the best ones that allow for the ultimate results with the greatest chance of adherence. Taking the first step is usually the most difficult change towards success. Instead of changing ones diet short term, focus on longevity and adherence.
KISS - KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID
Losing weight is much easier than what many believe and implementation is a key attribute towards achieving new extreme changes. More times than not, I am approached by individuals who have taken their first footstep towards changing their fitness life, however fall off shortly after starting much like a new born deer falls after it enters the new world. ADHERENCE is the key to success, much like a newborn deer isn't immediately capable of walking, it tries and tries again until it adapts and is able to further understand what it takes to walk. You will fall down, but the key to this failure is learning and adapting to further improve your chances of succeeding. Not everything in life is going to be easy and learning from your mistakes is what makes the difference from those who give up as opposed to those who continue day after day.
It may not be your sixth fall, it may not be your eighth fall, but eventually you will not fall anymore and you will realize that walking becomes a natural instinct. Dieting follows a very similar path as bizarre and weird as this sounds. When adapting to a diet, it is a tedious job trying to get on board and better understand the nutritional content of different food options but overtime it becomes more natural. The more you know about nutrition and the breakdown of food, the better your fitness outlook and life will follow.
When giving others advice on how to lose weight, I keep it extremely simple by having them follow 3 keys:
• Have a reason
• Make small changes
• Don't believe everything you see on the internet
Now I know what you're thinking; Is it really that easy? If I follow these three keys ill get the ideal physique similar to that of Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jessica Simpson? And the answer is it depends. These are the first steps to getting started on your fitness journey and assuring you don't over complicate the process leading to failure. Now some of you are saying what do these 3 keys mean? What do these queues have to deal with adapting to a diet? Well let's get down and dirty and explain these concepts!
Have a reason:
What motivates you to continue on, to fight for what you want, to achieve what many describe as impossible. Why are you wanting to lose weight? Are others making your weight issue the laugh of conversation? Are you so overweight that it's causing major health issues? No I'm not an infomercial ad, but ask yourself these questions. If your answer was yes to any of them, congratulations you have the ultimate tool to assure success. People are self motivated these days and after coming face to face with a wall of struggles, they don't have the ability to advance and therefore fall off. This will not be you because you're that certain individual packing an HK M320 grenade launcher(I had no idea what this was, however I found out it essentially is a weapon that will cause mass destruction) in your back pocket that when faced with a wall you're going to blow a 50 foot wide hole in it and continue on your journey. Use your why as a constant reminder of your new journey and a powerful motivator to prove those with doubt wrong.
Make Small changes:
Too many times I hear individuals starting a diet who are looking for immediate results as opposed to having sustained results. Their idea is that if they cut literally everything from their diet and consume a granola bar a day, they will lose weight and achieve their goal. This may be true, however this is an extremely unhealthy and stupid (yes very uneducated) decision that will result in a post diet effect that will have far more serious weight gain issues than the initial starting point. Making small changes week after week or month after month is what assures this journey isn't turned into a 100 meter sprint. What I mean by small changes include:
• Cut out fast food
• Incorporate physical fitness
• Limit food intake
• Learn about nutrition
If you adhere to small changes on a smaller occurrence. you will be able to incorporate these changes to your life much easier and eventually realize that this diet has morphed into a Lifestyle change.
Don't believe everything you see on the internet:
Anyone with a laptop and internet access can write whatever they want on the internet as I am doing right now... What separates me from them? Implementation, experience, and actual results from others I've helped. You can virtually say whatever you want on the internet these days and provide the uneducated with a slew of false facts. Sadly the overall belief of promising results has come down to marketing instead of the actual studies formulated by highly educated certified individuals. If you're going to the internet for your information, check the sources and dive deeper into the studies instead of just taking someone's word on the issue. If you get your information from a trainer or an experienced individual, simply ask them where they found this information or what types of certifications they hold. Don't get suckered into the colors and pretty websites; credible individuals are more interested in the content of their information rather than a colorful web display.

How to Lose Weight Fast for Teenage Girls

Being overweight is one thing. Being overweight for a teenage girl is something that can cause depression. While most people will say looks are not important, but personality is, the truth is that most people get judged from the appearance alone.
It doesn't need scientific or humanity studies to know that overweight teenage girls got teased, mocked and generally ridiculed by their so-called friends and peers. Beauty is essential part of self-esteem for girls, especially at tender teenage years. While being stick thin is not beautiful, being overweight is not just about the looks. First, we need to establish understanding on the major things that influence our body shape and size.
1. Puberty. Not many teenagers will understand about puberty, but awareness of this is important. Puberty can have serious and critical effect on your body and weight. Hormones released during puberty can increase your body fat excessively, and such it is possible to put on several pounds along with your height during this stage.
2. Genetics. You don't need to be a geneticist to fully understand this. Genes are something we inherit from our parents and ancestors. Height, weight, nature, shape and skin colors are just a few things we inherit. If your parents are overweight, chances of you being overweight will increase too. Depending on the genes running in your family, you will need to adjust your sleeping habits and lifestyle.
3. Food. It is without doubt that genes and hormones are two major protagonists beyond our control when it comes to body weight, but what you eat is absolutely within your control. Junk food can add extra calories without important nutrition such as vitamins and proteins. Avoid eating greasy, oily and sweet foods. Include vegetables and fruits that are rich in nutrition in order to have healthy eating habits to get a fit body.
Getting a beautiful and well-toned body is not a far-fetched dream. Listed below are some of the best and most efficient methods to shed those extra pounds making your confidence plunging down?

When you don't have any foods in your system, then your body will not generate enough energy and it can lead to serious lethargy or fatigue. On the other hand, since you skip meals, your body will want more glucose and carbohydrates in order to generate more energy to compensate. You will only end up eating more when you resume eating again.
3. Get Enough Sleep. Your body re-energizes itself when it is sleeping. You might think that sleep can make you fat but in fact, without sleep, your body will not function properly. In sleep-deprived condition, you will eat more unhealthy foods since your body will be craving for sugars and starches to get a quick energy refill. It is best to get 8 hours of sleep for a healthy person.
4. Eat Breakfast. Teenagers have a tendency to skip breakfasts. The full picture might vary but if you are overweight, you might think that it is a good way to cut some calories intake. But did you know that eating breakfast at morning can in fact increases your metabolism? Increased metabolism will burn more fat and well, you get the picture.

Eating Healthy and Regular Exercises Work

While living in the US, I have realized how important it is for me to manage food consumption. I started having a weight problem and I was determined to find a solution to this issue which started to cause many major ailments in my life. After many anecdotal experiments, eating healthy and regular exercises work. I am more than happy to share my techniques with you.
What not to do
Before I came to the right ways of losing the extra weight, I had wasted so much time at the stores, buying proteins and all sorts of other nutrients I was told were designed to help me lose weight. I have also tried all sorts of diet pills and was drinking lots of athlete juice loaded with sugar in order to have enough energy to get through my training courses. Nothing works, instead of losing, I was actually gaining and sometimes I just stay the same with no progress.
What to do
Then I started educating myself regarding the proper way to lose weight. It looks like although I wanted to lose weight but I was doing it the wrong way. The food that you eat matters as well as the exercises that you do when it comes to losing weight. I would go running like 5 times a week, weight lifting 3 to 4 times a week, playing basketball like 4 to 5 times a week and none would help me lose the weight. You see, it doesn't matter if I go to the gym every day and do all types of exercises still there wouldn't be no progress since I never change the way I was eating.
After each exercise session, I would say to myself since I work out so hard then I can eat as much and anything I want. Well, that is just simply wrong, that is the main reason why I was failing and is also the main reason so many people are failing because we rob ourselves with something called rewards. In that case, I was just rewarding myself with all kinds of wrong foods designed to stop me from losing weight and be healthy. There is one thing that you should always do if you want to really lose weight and it's about the kind, the quality as well as the quantity of food you put in your body and if done the right way, it will determine the success in losing weight, staying healthy and strengthening the body.
Since I started eating healthy, I didn't have to work out that hard anymore and sometimes all I do is just a 30 minutes' walk at the park and that would be enough.
Investment

  • I bought a blender. The one I bought was a Nutri-bullet, which is the best blender out there when it comes to making smoothies.

  • I exercise for a minimum 3 to 4 days a week about 30 minutes to 1 hour each time.

  • I eat healthy foods

  • I drink lots of water

  • I reduce the quantity of food I put in my body during any meal. Eating too much does not equate good eating but a balanced meal is all the body needs. It does not matter if I feel full or not, as long as the meal is balanced, I did not feel the need to eat once I started eating the right stuff.

  • I was very serious about losing weight and being healthy. I did not force myself to do anything; I just wanted to do it. Actually, I wanted to help myself.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Supper
Every morning, before I do anything I always drink a glass of water and sometimes I squeeze a slice of lemon and add a little ginger powder in there.
My breakfast is most of the time a smoothie. I just add some leafy greens, 2 kinds of fruits, some types of grains or nuts (usually I just add raw peanuts). I add everything in the Nutri-bullet blender with regular or coconut water and just drink a full glass. Sometimes, if I don't make a smoothie I eat foods like oatmeal along with blueberries and bananas, cereals or eggs with vegetables etc. I always eat in a way that will help me get through lunch without feeling hungry.
Lunch is always my biggest meal. I eat foods like grilled breast chicken, turkey or fish. I stay away from meats such as beef, pork, processed meats such as sausages, hot dogs, salami, bacon etc., drinks heavy in sugar like athlete drinks, sodas etc. and carbs low in fiber such as white bread, regular rice, pasta etc. I eat foods like brown rice (a fist size) or green plantain. I always eat my lunch with a salad along with some vegetables. If I don't have time to cook lunch, I just make another glass of smoothie. No one can ever be wrong with the smoothie.
For dinner, I just snack on vegetables or I just make another smoothie. And for supper, I just eat some fruits and drink water afterward. After a certain time like 8 pm or 9 pm, I stop eating. During the day after any meal, if I don't feel full enough, I snack on fruits, grains or nuts.
Exercises
I walk or run for 30 minutes to 1 hour every other day. Sometimes, I lift weight or just play some sports if the weather permits. There are places like membership gyms I go to just to keep myself active during winter months.
